We’ve just launched a site for a guy who does interstate removals. With a bit of luck, he managed to buy the domain name interstateremovals.com.au.
I always encourage people to buy the generic, word match domain name if at all possible for 2 main reasons:
Great branding – if you won the generic domain name (like I do with Eczema.com.au) then you’ll be more likely to be perceived as a credible site
Keyword matched domain names get a bit of a boost in Google – that is, if you search for interstate removals, then www.interstateremovals.com.au is more likely to come up
Sure, it might cost you a fair bit to get hold of that great domain name, but long term the benefits are usually worth it.
I get quite a few visitors to this site searching for me.
Which is terrific……but I don’t really use this site as my main site.
I generally use www.tailored.com.au as my main web site and integrate in my Twitter account, blog and more over there.
I use this site for little bits and pieces, but nothing too detailed.
And to those people who email me bitching and pissing and moaning that this site doesn’t have much content for you to help you build your business, 2 things:
Each one of these accommodation review sites has some information about the specific location, a list of the top resorts in that area, and information on restuarants, dining and fun activities in the region.
The idea is to help you find the best accommodation in an area, and a list of fun things to do while you’re there. Helpful in planning that perfect get-away?
